The buying side
The campaigns we run, and what each one is for
Five ways to put money into an auction. Most accounts need two or three of them, and a fair part of our job is saying which two.
-
Search buying
Intent led search campaigns on Google, Microsoft and Brave.
-
Display buying
Reach and retargeting bought at the placement level, not the black box.
-
Programmatic
DSP buying with real inventory hygiene and audience control.
-
Retargeting
Segmented remarketing with frequency discipline and burn logic.
-
Native placements
Cheap in feed traffic that lives or dies on editorial creative.
How to choose
Which of these you actually need
Nobody needs all five at once. The order that works, in almost every account we have taken over, looks like this.
- Take the appetite that already exists. Paid search first, because somebody typing your product into a search box is the cheapest customer you will ever buy.
- Recover the near misses. Retargeting, sized sensibly, picks up the people search already brought you.
- Widen the top once the bottom converts. Display and programmatic go looking for people who were not looking for you, which only makes sense after the easy demand is exhausted.
- Borrow somebody else's audience. Native advertising rents the credibility of the page it sits on. Useful when the product needs explaining before anyone will search for it.
- Judge each one on its own figures. A channel that cannot be separated out in the reporting cannot be defended in a budget meeting either.
If your account is small enough that this list looks like overkill, it probably is. Say so on the enquiry form and we will scope down rather than sell you a retainer you do not need.
